Our Missionaries

Bethany and Phil are two examples of young people called by God to share the Good News of Jesus Christ around the world. Bethany is the daughter of Dr. & Mrs. Robert Morse; Phil is the son of Rev. & Mrs. Stephen Boardman. Both families are part of the North Park Wesleyan Church. For more information about how you can support these young people by prayer and finances, check out the Global Partners/Wesleyan World Missions website below:

Phil Boardman - Czech

Phil Boardman is a graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University. He was involved in his first missionary trip as a 16-year old, going to San Diego, CA, and Tijuana, Mexico. While in college he took a short trip to Peru. He began his work in the Czech Republic at a summer English camp in 2001, and worked as a part-time missionary for a few years. He was appointed as a career missionary with Global Partners in September, 2006 and settled into the city of Brno, Czech Republic. Phil is in charge of the English Department at the Majak Ministry Center.

Kristy Baysinger graduated from Southern Wesleyan University and began her work in the Czech Republic in 2002, teaching some of the English classes.

Phil and Kristy were married April 24, 2010, in Largo, Florida. They will devote the next few months to finish their fund-raising and hope to return to the Czech Republic in the fall.

"I have revealed and saved and proclaimed—I, and not some foreign god among you. You are my witnesses," declares the Lord, "that I am God" (Isaiah 43:12 NIV).

Bethany Morse - Zambia

Bethany Morse completed her two-year intern missionary term to Zambia in June 2003 and has returned to Zambia as a career missionary nurse. While Bethany was in Zambia, Liz Anderson, career missionary nurse, served as her mentor. She served at the Zimba Mission Hospital where she worked in the pharmacy, worked in the male and female wards assisted with anesthesia, helped to host visiting work teams, and assisted with mission business.

Bethany was born in Fulda, Germany, and was on the move much of the time. She became a Christian at a Continental concert after seeing Jesus in the lives of the singers. She realized what was missing in her life was Jesus. In high school she felt a call to missions while attending Chambers Camp. She considers Sayre, Pennsylvania, and the Athens Wesleyan Church home because it is where she grew in her Christian walk. In May 1999 she graduated from Roberts Wesleyan College with a B.S. in nursing, and she was appointed to intern missionary service in November 1999.

In 1997 Bethany spent six weeks in Guatemala with Students International. While in Guatemala, she taught healthier lifestyles, worked with clinics and pharmacies in mountain villages, assisted in city hospitals, and showed the JESUS film. She spent ten days in a missions hospital in Dessilines, Haiti, in January 1999. Her time in Haiti included working on the maternity floor, helping at an orphanage, and community health nursing.

Bethany's desire is to lead people to Christ by example. She wants to be able to demonstrate God's love to others so that they may come to find life in Christ.

"I lift up my eyes to the hills—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth" (Psalm 121:1-2).
