Pastor & Family

Pastor Steve and Ruth Boardman moved to Evansville in June 2005. North Park is the fifth congregation they have served in more than 35 years in the ministry through The Wesleyan Church. Steve and Ruth met while students at Indiana Wesleyan University, in Marion, IN, and they were married in 1974. Ruth graduated with a bachelor degree in nursing. She currently works at Deaconess Clinic, Evansville, as a practice manager for the Internal Medicine department. But what she really enjoys is being involved in ministry, especially working with children in Sunday School and toddlers church. She also has a special place in her heart for senior citizens. Pastor Steve and Ruth have two adult children who have been actively involved in ministry in the local church, but they have each been called by God to a wider ministry in the last few months.

Phil is a 1999 graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University with a degree in Elementary Education; he has also earned a Masters Degree in Education. Phil first went to the Czech Republic in 2001 to work in the English camp as a Go-net volunteer. In September of 2006, he was assigned as a career missionary with Global Partners/Wesleyan World Missions. He is in charge of the English as a Second Language department with nearly 70 adult students and several more children. In April 2010 Phil was married to Kristy Baysinger, a fellow English teacher and co-worker in the Czech Republic for the last 8 years. They look forward to serving the Lord together in the Czech Republic. They hope to return in the fall of 2010. Stephanie graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2005 with a degree in Social Work. She spent 5 months working with street children in Odessa, Ukraine, in 2008. In August, 2009, she was married to Craig Schulte, a computer programmer. They live in Evansville and Stephanie serves as the youth director at North Park Wesleyan.
The Boardman family is very excited to be in Evansville and we look forward to seeing God at work in, and through, the congregation of the North Park Wesleyan Church.
